Dr. Christopher  Mulrooney

Christopher P. Mulrooney, M.P.S., Ph. D.

Partner and Chairman of the Board

 

As a Tallahassee-based principal, Dr. Mulrooney provides expertise in developing the person-directed care systems and intentional small house culture for Villas at Killearn Lakes. He has worked in the field of aging services and long-term care for over 30 years, beginning as a nursing assistant. He has held roles as Division Vice President and CEO of not-for-profit senior living and health care services organizations in Florida and Michigan; as a Leadership Development and Management Consultant for health care executives at a global consulting firm; as a Skilled Nursing Facility Administrator; and in long-term care teaching, training, and research including developing “The Person – and Relationship-Centered Caregiving Trait,” a hiring and development protocol for culture change caregivers. He is licensed as a Nursing Home Administrator in Florida and two other states, is a Fellow of the American College of Health Care Administrators (ACHCA), and is nationally certified by ACHCA as an Assisted Living Administrator and a Nursing Home Administrator. Dr. Mulrooney is currently an Assistant Dean and member of the faculty in the Department of Geriatrics at Florida State University College of Medicine.

Ms. Massey brings 14 years of case management and resource referral experience within the medical social work and geriatric care management field. Assisted with individuals with chronic and life limiting illness in navigating  choices to include electing service providers, making medical decisions  and selecting long term care placement. Past positions include Transition Program Manager, Big Bend Hospice; Support Service Manager & Bereavement Support Coordinator, Covenant Cares;  Regional Social Worker, Covenant  Hospice. Master of Social Work | Florida State University, Bachelor of Science | Florida State University.

Partner and Community Relations 

Celebrated for her leadership role in community and public relations for local CBS affiliate, WCTV, Anna has received numerous national and local honors and is a respected leader in the broadcasting industry.  Over the course of a 37-year career in broadcasting, Anna has written, directed, and produced television shows, commercials, public service announcements and special programs. She continues to stay involved in her community by working and helping non-profit agencies and is still a highly recognized female television personality in the WCTV viewing area.  She was chairman of the “Making Strides against Breast Cancer” walk, a member of the Committee of 99, a Law Enforcement Support Group, and for years hosted the “Silver Stars,” for the Leon County Senior Center, recognizing seniors still active in their community.

Klaus Axen

Partner and Vice-Chairman of the Board; Co-owner, ISL of Arizona

 

Klaus Axen focuses on the development, construction and finance aspects of ISL of Arizona and has been involved in that capacity since May 2003. ISL of Arizona currently co-owns and operates 190 beds in Arizona. ISL’s first project, the Villas at La Canada (www.villasatlacanada.com) is a 100 bed neighborhood with ten homes, and is fully stabilized and operating. ISL’s second large project, the Villas at Houghton (www.villasathoughton.com), has recently finished construction on its remaining three homes of nine and currently leasing up to full occupancy. Mr. Axen brings over ten years of experience in the long-term care field. Key to the success of ISL is his commitment to the “small house” design in the highly competitive assisted living market in Arizona.  Mr. Axen has extensive experience with forming, managing, and operating start-up companies.  Mr. Axen’s background includes commercial and residential real estate matters, employment and contract matters, tax and estate planning, and litigation.
